Pick Me Up is a community cleanup coordination app. It is designed to help neighbors organize and join local trash pickup events. Pick Me Up does not sell personal data and does not use personal data for third-party advertising or tracking.

Information Pick Me Up Uses

Account information. Pick Me Up uses Firebase Authentication. You may sign in with Google or create an account with an email address and password. Pick Me Up uses your account to identify you as an event organizer or attendee, display your name and profile on events you create or join, and send event notifications.

Event data. When you create a cleanup event, Pick Me Up stores the event name, description, location, date, and any other details you provide. When you join an event, your attendance is recorded. This information is used to show events on the map, notify attendees, and display event activity.

Nominations. If you submit a nomination for the Hall of Fame, Pick Me Up stores the nomination details you provide.

Location

Pick Me Up uses Google Maps to display cleanup event locations on a map and to help you find events near you. Event locations are stored as part of the event record. Pick Me Up does not continuously track your device location in the background.

Photos

You may optionally upload photos to a cleanup event, such as before-and-after shots. Pick Me Up uses Google Gemini to analyze uploaded photos and estimate the number of bags collected. Uploaded photos may be stored as part of the event record.

Email Notifications

If you sign up to attend an event, Pick Me Up may send you a reminder email in the 24–36 hours before the event starts. You may also receive a notification if an event you are attending is cancelled. These emails are sent to the address associated with your account.

Network Requests

Pick Me Up may make network requests to:

  • Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, data storage, and hosting.
  • Google Maps and Places APIs for map display and location search.
  • Google Gemini for AI-based photo analysis.
  • Pick Me Up's own server for notification delivery and scheduled event reminders.

Pick Me Up does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
